Labor Day Weekend VCMP 2013 Challenge #2

Oh, Boy!! I completed another challenge  last night but I had to head to bed so
I could make it to work today before I could post it.

was to create a card using items that used the letters OWH in the card.
I used Sketch #36 for this challenge.

I used pinky-Orange papers from a spring DCWV stack and Oval punches.
I had a set - Hey There- by Amy Tangerine (American Crafts) which I purchased at Archiver's and
used the three Houses and the Hello stamps from the set.
I used 2 pieces of White paper with the card.

Hopefully, my nod to OWH with my ovals, orange, houses, hello, and white is good for the challenge.
I have half of the challenges done now. 4 more to go!

Challenge #1 of the Labor Day Weekend VCMP 2013

I got the first challenge done!! It's from Nancy at

I finally used the Fiskars medium hexagon punch I won at Achiver's a few weeks ago.

The card had to be a winter theme. I had purchased the hexagon patterned paper at Tuesday Morning and thought it would be fun to use the hexagon punch with the paper. I used a Hero Arts stamp from one of their Winter/Christmas tag sets. The little snowman is a sticker from Pat Catan's. The words were brads from Oriental Trading.

Labor Day Weekend VCMP 2013 and Sketch #29

I got another challenge completed! And another Sketch too - #29!!
The challenge #4 was from Annette at  http://byannette.blogspot.com/2013/08/labor-day-weekend-vcmp.html

I used DCWV stack paper from The Countdown stack. Another stamp from a TPC Studio set. Felt heart ribbon. Elsie embossed paper that I inked.

OWH Labor Day Weekend VCMP 2013 and Sketch #188

I was home this past weekend but forgot about the Virtual Card Making Party for Labor Day Weekend 2013. :( I did get 3 of the challenges done for the weekend. Only 3 out of 8!

Here's Sketch #188 which was Challenge 5. I liked this Sketch and will likely use it again. The sentiment "I Miss You" is from a set of  Hero Arts, I think and the Love You circle stamp is from TPC Studio. The papers are a variety of DCWV stack papers.

Sketch #187

Hubby was out of town last night so I had a bit of creative time after getting home late from work at the school office. The past few weeks have been so busy with the beginning of school and trying to organize my desk and have a new principal and a new secretary.

So, here's my take on Sketch #187.

I turned the Sketch #187 on its side. I used a 6x6" pad from DCWV Juniper Berry stack. I love this stack!! It has shiny papers instead of glittery ones. Love the blues.
The sentiment is an new stamp set Type by Hero Arts I got in the clearance aisle of Joann's. The set has Happy Birthday, just missing you, you're my type of friend in addition to a typewriter image. I added some silver nailheads to the card.

Sketch #185

I love the simple cards and this card Sketch is great!!
It will be a favorite!!

My version of Sketch #185 had a cute little hedgehog and pieces from a 6x6" pad camping.
I used green textured cardstock for the bottom and matted the hedgehog on orange cardstock.
I do want to color the teeny-tiny heart on the hedgehog before I send the cards.
I used the brown paper from Joann's clearance racks.
I had silver nailheads left over from the VW bus
so I added a few to the bottom of the hedgehog card.

The hedgehog is from Archiver's Exclusive Groovy card kit.
I love the card kits but I really make the kits as they have planned.
The kits have you make sizes that OWH can't use.
The stamp set in the kit is by Unity Stamps.
Here's a photo of my take on the kits.
The kit samples didn't seem very Groovy so
I used the included paper for the backgrounds and the various pieces.

And Silly me!!
I was creating these paint can cards at Table 7 one night
and didn't realize how close to closing it was.
Just after I put the blue stickles on the cans.
I found some cardboard in the store.
I used 2 tiny Glue Dots on the cards and
glued the wet cards to the cardboard.
I then carried the card-covered box out to my car like a pizza.
They made it home without any problems.

No blue stickles anywhere but on the cards!!

Sketch #186

I usually print the Sketch of the week so I can take it with me to Table 7 or my scrapbook room or the living room couch - whatever I can create a new card. I purchased a 6x6" Simple Stories 24/Seven pad at Archiver's on Friday and used it to make this Sketch. I had to turn the Sketch 90 degrees so my pieces would fit on the card and still fit the Sketch. I had just gotten my order from Scrapbook.com with a new new stamp set. It is from Inkadinkado set called Good Bye-Good Luck Card Making Set. The little sentiment was just what I needed for this card. A Table 7 girlfriend gave me the black plastic mesh and it needed Terrifically Tacky Tape to hold it down. I thought I would put gems on the bingo cards but the card was getting thick.

Sketch #181

Sketch #181 is in the done column!! I finished it today! I used kiwi core'dination paper and gold Thank You printed on cream paper by Paper Studio. I have had the Thank You for a bit but I think I got it at Hobby Lobby and the Core'dination paper was clearance-priced at Pat Catan's (formerly Crafts 2000). The little gemstones were just in the stash. I loved the sentiment from Create with TLC, a freebie that she posts daily. She has some great freebies and a great store too. Check out her site at  http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/ .  The tree was from Creating Keepsakes' freebies. With all the little pieces, I was glad to have my sticker maker from Xyron. It was so much easier to get the adhesive on the little bits than using my ATG runner. I had been a bit apprehensive about this sketch because of the little bits but I do look the finished card. I am all caught up on the summer sketch for now. I still need to get some older sketches done but school is starting soon and I'll be back to work. Where did the summer go!!
