VCMP #2

Another Challange is done!! Challenge #2 was a recipe of 1 image, 2 patterned papers, and 3 words.
I recently bought a Snag 'em Stamps by imaginisce and used it to make my image.
The cute little smiley glue bottle reminds me of Back-to-School.
I had the small sentiment from the
Charming Whimsies set by Jillian Vance.
The school lined paper and the school themed paper was in the stash.
I used a punch that looks like notepaper ends and it was in American Crafts' Knock Outs set. I used it on the glue bottle's scalloped rectangle too.

Hope you like my card.

VCMP Bonus Sketch

OWH had a bonus Sketch today (Monday) and I got it done too! So happy that I am back on track with the Sketches.

I cut 2 scalloped circles and layered them so that they hopefully look like a plate for the cookies I cut out of the last year's Mrs. Claus paper stack by DCWV. I cut the sentiment from the stack too. I do have the EK Success gingerbread man punch for the bunch I'll do later this week.

I made a bunch of winter cards. I think I got a bit carried away with the winter ones. I'l have a very full box later this week.

I got many of the Challenges of the Virtual Cardmaking Party done this weekend. I have Challenges #2, #4, and #9 yet to do. I need to clean off the table again before I can make more cards. I need to finish posts and head to bed. School tomorrow!

VCMP #10

The VCMP #10 Challenge is to make a card to represent your home state. I grew up on a small Indiana farm with a few pigs and beef cattle. We had a few sheep a few years but they were not fun to raise. My dad was not sure about the shearing for them. We had chickens and one year, we got a bunch of chickens with fluffy feathers around their feet and a fancy top of feathers. My dad planted several acres of corn, wheat, and   sorghum. The brothers all got to drive the tractors but I didn't get to learn that skill. I was good at baking cookies and making lemonade for them after they put up hay on hot summer days.

I used a tool that I haven't used for a while to make my card for this challenge. Maybe I should have put this card in Challenge #9 instead of #10. I used the crimping tool to add lines to my Kraft paper so the tractor looked like it was plowing the field. The tractor and corn is from a sticker set by Sandylion. I couldn't find my MS fringe scissors but I used my regular scissors to cut the grass on the card. The 2 sentiments are in the Down on the Farm set by Jillian Vance Design. They are cute little stamps with a pun. I inked the crimped paper with dark brown ink and the sentiment and block with mustard colored ink.

VCMP #8

This  VCMP #8 Challenge was to make a card using a sports theme. I had several sports to choose from  in my scrapbook room as my sons ran Cross Country, swam on the HS team, and did a bit of soccer. We watch a lot of college football and attend a game or 2 each season so I had lots of that too. I even had some bowling stickers and paper. But I did a baseball theme as I had papers from the little album I did a couple of weeks ago from the game we attended with people from work. I used a bit of Washi tape on this card with a bit of ribbon too. I used another font from Creating Keepsakes for the sentiment.

I had a surf set of stickers jump into my cart at Joann's clearance aisle. I found a piece of surf paper in the swimming stuff  and a fun sentiment from a day at the pool sticker set.

VCMP #7

Sabrina at Scrapping with Purpose had you make 2 cards for Challenge #7 - a Christmas for a kid and a Christmas card for a Hero.

The Hero card I made has a little elf digi - I had just one colored image left and it was hiding with the Christmas paper. The kid's Christmas card is a Santa face made with small scalloped circles and American Crafts Knock Out Punches. I cut the circles from a piece of embossed paper from my Cuttlebug, added a bit of red/gold ribbon, and 2 stamps from Hampton Art Foot-Longs Christmas clear stamps set. This card also has the base embossed too but the other 4 cards are on Christmas patterned paper. I used Clear Starburst glaze pen on the beard too.

VCMP #6/ Sketch #136

OWH had the Sketch of the week as VCMP #6 Challenge! I actually got it done before the weekend was over this time.

So, here's the Sketch #136.

My card is another Western theme since the Western papers and embellishments were still all over my table. I did start Mon. morning with cleaning up the table before making any more cards today. But you couldn't tell it now.

I used 3 squares with stars, a couple of scraps, some orange twine, and 2 stickers for the sentiment.

VCMP Challenge #5

VCMP #5 was a challenge to make a Western theme card.

I had a bunch of Western papers and embellishments from a Cross Country scrapbook. So I found them and made 2 Western cards, a guy one and a pink girl one. I used a Unity stamp on the guy's one and a few stickers. The pink girl one has a square of cowgirl paper on pink paper and some pink embellishments from Hobby Lobby's clearance.

VCMP Challenge #3

Here's my card for Challenge #3, which was Snowflakes but not Christmas. I found this cutie little penguin in the stash. I added 3 blue clouds from my Fiskar's punch for the ice, a bit of white ribbon behind the little guy, and a sentiment from my computer using a free from Creating Keepsakes.

VCMP #1 Challenge

The First Challenge was to use a sentiment. I used a piece from a BoBunny die cut set, red pearls, and a big sentiment.

Virtual Cardmaking Party at OWH

Labor Day Weekend is upon us - the last hurrah for the summer. At OWH, it is a party with a big blog hop. Lots of challenges to do. Lots of blogs to see. Lots of cards to make.
Check out the OWH blog to follow the fun!

No Place Like Home OWH Card Drive

A new card drive has started at OWH for the busy holiday season. OWH needs lots of cards for the deployed service men and women. It is time for me to get busy and get another box ready!! I have the general 1/2 box but not any holiday cards yet. I need to find my Thanksgiving items and get the Christmas tote of embellishments and stamps down.

OWH has 4 prize boxes full of crafty goodies for 4 lucky winners! Names will be drawn on October 11 and announced on OWHtv that evening. To qualify, your package must:
  1. contain half general card themes and half holiday (Christmas, Thanksgiving). Your general cards may certainly be fall- or winter-themed since you have all those seasonal supplies out – or you can take a break from those and make regular general cards.
  2. contain at least 2 AnyHero cards or letters. You can even get your kids to do those for you!
  3. follow OWH guidelines! Don’t forget to line them, triage for things falling off, include a completed packing slip (and write “No place like home” on the challenge line.) If you need to order a stamp for the backs of your cards, do that here.
  4. BONUS ENTRY: Cards properly tucked get a double entry! If you’d like to order envelopes, the coupon code for Heinrich is here
