Sketch #183

YooHoo! Got another sketch done!! I found the papers at Pat Catan's (formerly Crafts 2000) in their clearance section. I surprised to find the Doodlebug 4th of July papers in the clearance but I picked up most of the different designs. I didn't leave much of the papers for others. (Yes, I was a bit of pig but I had ideas for it all!) I loved the bike paper and I had to go into my messy scrapbook room to find the bike/sentiment stamp, which was a Studio G stamp set from Joann's. I used Viva Pearl Pen Ice White for the 3 brads on the sketch. I have plenty of red, white and blue baker's twine that I added to the card. I used VersaMagic Night Sky but it a chalk ink so the sentiment is a bit light but the color matches the paper.

Sketch #182

It has been a busy summer with lots of traveling. I have been to Memphis, TN; southern Indiana for a retreat; 2 trips to hometown; Juneau, AK; Niagara Falls (both sides) and southern Vermont. I have one more trip to go on Nova Scotia with hubby's family. Then it is back to school in the school office.

I did have time between the trips and loading & unloading the suitcase to make a few sketches. Here's #182. I used a 6x6" pad I found on sale in Joann's. It was all birthday papers so the strips for this sketches were part of the paper I cut off to make the base. I made a bunch of cards, alternating the base with the strips. I cut 6 different designed papers. I inked a border design on the sentiment block and the base. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set, I think.

Sketch #180

Sketch #180

I used We R Memory Keepers Mini 8 border punch. The patterned paper is just an odd piece from the stash and the cardstock is Brazzill papers I got on clearance at Pat Catan's.  I used two rectangles punches too. They are a little big for the card but the sentiment fit. The sentiment is from Good Friends by Hero Arts.

Sketch #168

Sketch #168 is completed during the past few rainy days.
I used more 6x6" DCWV pad Everyday.
The sentiment is from Create with TLC. I added a few jewels.

Sketch #119

Sketch #119

I got two versions of Sketch #119 done today, both birthday cards. The 4 patterned papers are from DCWV Celebrations paper. They have a shiny finish on them, not glitter. I used my EK Tool cupcake large edger punch on these cards. I wanted to use the balloon one but my scrapbook room is such a mess I couldn't find it. And it has been almost 2 months since I have been to Table 7!! So, some of my supplies are still in hiding. The sentiments are from Hero Arts sets. I also used my Marvy scalloped circle punch.

Another card while the rain and thunder crashed down yesterday. More 6x6" from one of the DCWV pads. Petaloo jeweled flowers and a sentiment by Hero Arts.

Sketch #174

Sketch #174

This is a busy card with lots of cuts and mats. I used purple papers and a sticker from Spring Fling by DCWV and a bit of green ribbon.

Sketch #118

Sketch #118

This card is so today as it has rained and thunderstormed all day. Maybe I need  to follow my own card and just float along like Changito by Stampendous. I used care blue paper, a sheet of 8x8" from Colorblok pack, and a blue Studio G ink pad. I didn't get this image colored but I kinda like the uncolored version.

Sketch #120

I have been busy at home, making cards as hubby was on a business trip. Here's Sketch #120. I like the papers from DCWV 6x6" Fashion District. I added a bit of Washi tape that Archiver's had on sale one day. However, I feel it needs something else. I have orange jeweled flowers but I have used that style a lot lately. I will have to put this one on the back burner for a bit till I get an idea for an embellishment.

Sketch #177

Sketch #177

I forgot to post this sketch. I had ordered Lawn Fawn's Dewey Decimal paper set from Scrapbook Steals about a month ago. I used the 6x6" pad for the card and the stamp set too. Well, all the items and papers are Lawn Fawn's. The 3 little circles aren't brads but circles punched out of the stickers'  package. I faux-stitched around the little blue paper. I had to cut the stamp sentiment for it to fit on the little library due date card. I loved this sketch!!

Ai Floral Frenzy Week Two

I was reading my various blogs subscriptions and read about Art Impressions' Floral Frenzy Week Two Challenge. http://artimpressionsstamps.blogspot.com/2013/07/challenge-113-floral-frenzy-week-two.html   I have many of the girlfriends stamp sets and I had colored a few of them while watching TV. But I hadn't used many of the images.

I used girlfriends at the Movies set with Graphic 45's cinema themed papers for my first card. I love the cinema papers and items. I got them at Tuesday Morning, buying several double-sided papers and the paper with the die cuts too. I added jewels and pearls as necklaces and earrings to the girlfriends. The Challenge was Floral so I had to have at least 5 flowers on the card. I added the  glittery, jeweled flowers along the bottom of the card and one to one of the girlfriends' hat.

My second Challenge card used this birthday set. I used DCWV papers from a 4x6" stack and from a 6x6" stack. The black numbered paper seemed too dark so I matted the image on some pink and purple papers, the colors of the girlfriends' dresses. I like the other sentiment that came with the set "Could I borrow some Weight Watchers points?" I added some rhinestone flowers and a bit of glaze pen around the candle flame. I used colored pencils to color the image.

Now I check off an item on my summer list - entering a challenge. I haven't entered many challenges before other than adding my card for OWH Sunday sketches.

Have a great Summer.

Sketch #179

And my second sketch done this weekend!!

I used 6x6" papers from DCWV's Girl Frill stack from A.C.Moore. The stack was $3.99 for 180 sheets of paper. I can make lots of cards from this one stack. I inked the edges instead of matting the pieces as in the sketch. I do love matting but I am afraid of the extra weight. The flower and the sentiment have been in a bin of images and I finally used them. I think I got one or the other from Create with TLC a while back.  http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/

Sketch #178

Wow, I got another sketch done and before the end of the month. Of course, I had to pull out a bunch of paper, embellishments and other items before I finally decided what I was going to do with this sketch. Maybe all the items will get put away later.

Anyway, when I was traveling to VT with my older sister to see my little sister, we stopped at A.C.Moore. I found a few 6x6" pads on sale and several found their way into my shopping cart. I used several sheets of papers from DCWV Girl Frill set to make this card. I used AI stamp for the sentiment. I had a bunch of rhinestone stars and hearts in my stash. I did use several mats in this card as the sketch shows but I am always afraid to use lots of mats due to weight in mailing.

Sketch #160

Sketch #160

I'm not sure I'm thrilled with my card but here it is!! I fussy-cut the cupcake from the WalMart pink, fun paper kit. The number paper was in the stash. A bit of baker's twine. The Happy Birthday is a roll-on rub-on from Archiver's and I really had to watch how I rolled the saying on the paper so I had at least one whole Happy Birthday saying on the card.

Sketch #164

Sketch #164

The sentiment is from AI, one of their valentine stamp set that was exclusive to Archiver's. The flowers are little balloon bits from the balloon border punch by EK Success and the black centers are a bunch of little bits from the film strip border punch by EK Success.

Sketch #161

Sketch #161

I thought I was following the sketch but I didn't follow it as closely as I should have. I had some tags and used those for the big oval in the sketch. The paper is from the WalMart fun paper kit. A few jewels on the strip and a bit of pink twine completed the card. I don't remember where I got the sentiment.

Sketch #163

Sketch #163

I did run into WalMart for a bit of shopping during the June quilt retreat and purchased this paper in a kit of pinks, owls, and fun. I fussy-cut the 3 little owls and added green ribbon to the card. The little sentiment is a Studio G $1.00 stamp.

Sketch #167

Sketch #167

I used more 6x6" pad of paper Bo Bunny's Family is....
I love all the greens and blues. I used a Fiskars stamp for the sentiment, a EK Success border punch, and green ribbon.

Sketch #165

Sketch #165

Another quick card made during the June quilt retreat. Yellow and red cardstock paper was used plus a patterned paper on the strip. I used a EK Success border punch, and scalloped circle punch and a teddy bear punch. I used the little black piece from the filmstrip punch for the little Paper Smooches sentiment. I used a few of the punched pieces from the border to mat the pearls at the bottom of the card.

Sketch #169

Sketch #169

I used some papers from 6x6" down by the sea. The little butterfly was a die cut attached to a magazine. My die cut scalloped shape is a bit smaller than in the sketch but I happened to have this size with me at the June retreat. It is another happy looking card. I used a couple of EK  Success border punches for the edges.

Sketch #170

Sketch #170

I had to use my film strip punch with this stamp - Riley as a flying money. I used some more Graphic 45 paper from Tuesday Morning spree. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession's Oz Collection that I purchased at Archiver's one night at Table 7. I added green ribbon and green oval jewels to complete the sketch. I used colored pencils by American Crafts to color the Riley.

Sketch #171

Sketch #171

Another sketch I did at the June retreat. I used a playful 6x6" pad to make the card. I love the crossword puzzles. I used the scallop and the plain oval punches for the sentiment. The sentiment is a go-to one.

Sketch #172

Sketch #172

I used double sided papers from a 6x6" pad and I inked the edges with a aqua cat's eye ink pad. The camera is a stamp by Hero Arts with its own die cut metal. I created the sentiment on my computer before going to the June retreat. I added some pearls and jewels.

Sketch #173

Sketch #173

I used a lot of yellow papers while I was at the retreat.

I used a journal block card for this card. The stars are a sticky embellishment package from Big Lots. I unfortunately do not remember what paper I used or where I got the journal block. I love this card. It just looks so happy.
