Another Sketch done!

Sketch #133

Slowly I'm getting the OWH sketches completed. Still behind but I'm working on them.

I was slightly hesitate to make this card for Sketch @133 as I couldn't find my circle punches ( they are hiding somewhere in this scrapbook room). So I used my similar sized oval punches.

I had just purchased 2 coordinating papers at Tues. Morning so I used those for my card. The papers are from g c d studios' Ella blue Collection. I used the blue roses - Tara- and the blue with white embossed design - Magnolia. I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the little brown strip. I found the border punch at T.J. Maxx for $3.99. There were a few different designs so I bought a couple more too. The ovals are on a piece of brown-gold shimmer paper by DCWV but it doesn't much in the cell phone picture. The stamp is in Cloud 9"s clear stamp set entitled Stamp America. A few Petaloo jeweled flowers complete the card.

Another New Cart on its Way

While I was ordering the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge, I saw this one and ordered it too. It is titled Children Around The World. It is a Cricut Lite cartridge too. Hopefully, I'll save it in my travel album and on a bulletin board at school.

Doing a Happy Dance!!

I'm doing a Happy Dance!! Cricut just released a new cart!!
I have to have it.
TaDa!!
It is Cricut Lite Teddy Bear Parade.
Isn't it  too cute? It looks like the bear is the same little guy but so many little outfits.
I hope it will have some sayings too but I didn't see any sayings in the promo pictures.
I showed the cart pictures to my hubby.
He quickly agreed that I NEEDED this cart. (Isn't he so smart? )
I mean I only have about 600 stuffed teddy bears in my house and every year as Media Clerk,
I talked about teddy bears in the kindergarten and 1st grade classes.

I have really ordered my cart today on Cricut.com.
Since it is a Cricut Lite, I didn't think I would ever it in Walmart around here.
The Walmart around me are getting rid of the scrapbook area or severely limiting the area.
I haven't seen any Cricut stuff in the local Walmart in a long time.

A friend had said that Cricut was getting this cart out soon.
But when I asked Cricut in a email earlier this month, they didn't know anything about a teddy bear cart.
I had asked Cricut Support so they probably couldn't say if it was in the works or not.

I can't wait to get my new cart!!

All the cute little teddy bears on the cart!

Below are a few individual cuts Cricut.com had on their website.

Finally, I got one done!!

Sketch #130

I finally got a sketch done from the past weeks' OWH postings! Here's the OWH sketch #130, a cute easy sketch.

And Ta Da,  here's my version!

The photo of this card using sketch #130  looks darker than it really is - silly cell phone. The green outside is just my table. The card is a piece of blue dotted paper from Bo Bunny's Mama-razzi set. I added a piece of red textured paper from Micheal's clearance rack and the bunting is from K & Co. July 4th set. The Mailman Riley is from Riley and Co. I love the little guy!! I colored him with my Bic markers and a few other markers. I used some of my airmail colored twine I found on my trip to Florida (I actually have 2 rolls of this cuz I really love it!) I actually finally used my American Crafts punch set as it had been sitting under my scrapbook table hiding for a while. The sentiment is from a sentiment set I use a lot but I can't think of the company. Maybe Hero Arts or Stampendous from a bit ago.

Ok, that's it for now. I have another sketch card to photography and I'll post it tomorrow.

Sketch #134

Oh, no! It is Sunday!! Another OWH sketch is out!

Oh, Goody! It's Sunday!! Time to play later.

I have got to get into my scrapbook room to get these sketches done!! I'm soooo  behind on getting sketches done. It has been a busy summer, with lots of traveling and fun. And then I have been back to school and the beginning of school is quite hectic in the office.

I need to go finish the laundry and then I'm free to go hide in the scrapbook room.
Yay!!!
I'll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by. Later.

Thanks to Sybrina!!

I won a prize over on Sybrina's blog, Scrapping with Purpose.  http://scrappingwithpurpose.blogspot.com/
I got to go shopping at Scrapbook Art http://www.scrapbookartpolaris.com/ after a very busy day at school. At Scrapbook Art, I found so many things!! I promised Sybrina I would post some pictures from my prize spending.

So with my prize from Sybrina, I bought a few new stamp sets. I love the little eagle from Paper Smooches and We R Memory Keepers Hero set. The 2 Christmas sets were on sale so of course I had to purchase them. The 2 little stamps were just cute so they got tossed in the shopping basket.

Of course, my shopping basket had more in it than my prize. I picked up some of Bo Bunny travel paper and die cuts, We R Memory Keepers Crafty papers, and several papers from the travel and sale sections. I had not been to Scrapbook Art for a while and I kinda went crazy. I love the store but I usually find myself in rush hour traffic trying to get there and I hate that. Polaris Parkway gets so busy.

Soooo, here is the stack of 30+ cards I made at Table 7 Friday night. I used the little eagle and the freedom stamps and some of the papers. I stamped Missing You on several of the little eagle stamped card.

So, a HUGE thanks to Sybrina for a great shopping for OWH supplies. It was fun.

Thanks for stopping by. Later.

Sketch #133

Sketch #133

Another fun looking sketch! OWH posted the weekly sketch on Sunday and here's Sketch #133. And once again, I haven't had time to create a card. :( boo.  The school district starts school tomorrow and I have been helping get the students registered and doing my attendance clerk job.Very busy time at school. I have got my seat at Table 7 on Friday and I will be really, really, really, ready for it.

What in the World?

What in the world does the World of Coca-Cola have to do with scrapbooking? I recently visited my son in Atlanta, GA where we toured the World of Coca-Cola. We had a great time in the World, looking at many exhibits about Coca-Cola. I had been to the old museum in 1994 or so when it was downtown near the Underground Atlanta.

The old World of Coca-Cola from 1991 to 2007 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive

When we walked to the new one the other day, I kept telling my hubby and my son that the museum looked different now. The newer museum opened in 2007. Anyway, the new museum was fun.

The new museum opened 2007 and is near the Georgia Aquarium, CNN building, and Centennial Park.
BUT what does the World of Coca-Cola have to do with scrapbooking?? In the huge gift shop, I found 5-6 different 12x12" papers with assorted Coca-Cola logos. Each sheet was only 10 cents!!! I got a few sticker sets for 25 cents!! This was the only place that I found scrapbook supplies in Atlanta. No local scrapbook store in Atlanta anymore. So sad! I didn't find a Joann's or Micheal's any where either. I may have to have my son go back to the gift shop for more paper soon.

Thanks for stopping by. Later.

Sketch #132

Sketch #132

I haven't been home long enough to complete this sketch. I'm now 3 sketches behind. :(   I do like this sketch as it looks pretty easy and it could use up some of the bits in the scrap drawer.

Summer's Almost Over - Boo-Hoo!!

It is the first week of August and I am back to school for registration for two days this week. The staff start on Mon. and the kids on Wed. The summer has flown by. On my FB, I did a couple of updates that I'll put in this blog too.

I traveled a lot this summer and that might be a bit of understatement. Between June and August this weekend, I will have traveled at least 7761 miles, give or take a few miles. This includes a trip to VT with a side trip to ME and a slightly different way home with an slight side trip to Niagara Falls; a trip to FL-a different way there and back; one trip to Purdue; at least 5 trips to Springfield, OH; 3 trips to home with side trips to my dad's; and lastly a trip with Hubby to Atlanta to see the older son. I Googled the destinations and added the miles from that so I'm sure I missed a few miles. I think I added all the trips. And I took a lot of pictures so I'll be busy all winter in my craftroom.

During the time I was home, I got 3 boxes mailed to OWH and that was just over 1000 cards!!! I did make cards for my stash but I don't know how many are in that stash!and I will be slowing down on the cardmaking for a bit with school starting so soon. I will have to make my own Christmas cards in Oct. or Nov. or so. I did have a card in the We R Memory Keepers' Operation We R Grateful but I didn't see it fast enough to rally the voting for the card. It was the card with the cute little girl sock monkey on it. But, hey, I was on the contest for a bit. Unfortunately, I have been out a bit so I have not done any more sketches, missing the last 3 new ones.

I also read 29 books for the public library's Adult Summer Reading Program. I even won a weekly prize. I still have a pile of books to read but that's another time.

After the weekend, you'll find me back in my craftroom.

Thanks for stopping by. Later next week!!
