Sketch #156

Sketch #156

I love this OWH sketch this week!! They post the new sketch on Sundays and I actually did the sketch challenge on a timely fashion this week. I was visiting my sister and I papercrafted while she quilted. Those quilters are fast!! They can get so much while I'm still cutting paper bits.

Back to the Sketch #156. It is fun to do, easy to do, and can flipped a couple different ways.

I used it for a few of quick cards, using some stickers from a SNAP set and from a journal stack. I had the pink paper from a package of paper from Michael's. It is printed on one side and solid pink on the other side. I used tiny stickers on the top and bottom of the cards and buttons on another card.

I liked these quick cards but then I had another idea.
My sister plans quilt retreats and I make a card for each of the participants.
The theme of the next retreat in the spring  is Everything is Just Ducky.
So, I made the next 2 cards. The first card has the sentiment under the duck and it just didn't look right since it was under the water. So I moved the sentiment to the top. My sister really liked the cards. I used more paper from that package of Micheal's paper and I also used some ProvoCraft paper my sister had for a while. I used Viva Pearl Pen yellow for the three little circles in the sketch. I cut the ducks out on my Cricut, using the original Paper Dolls cartridge ( the water is from the same cart too) . The duck's beak and wing was colored with an orange marker and I added some of the Viva Pearl Pen yellow on the duck in various spots. My sister printed the sentiment on her printer for me since I didn't have any sentiment stamps with me at my sister's house. I popped the duck using Scotch foam tape and  a bit on the smaller water strip.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sketch #134

Sketch #134

I'm still working on the OWH list of sketches. Here's my take on #134.
I used a new stamp by Art Impressions that I purchased last time I was at Archiver's Table 7. I colored the bear with Tim Holtz's Distress Markers - a set of 4 markers. The blue heart paper and the red striped paper were also from Archiver's when they gave us page kits during the Scrap Manias. The paper said they were exclusive to Archiver's and they have been in the stash for a bit. I found some heart brads. The Hugs sentiment came with the bear. I punched a heart out of Brazzil Bling paper. I love this cutie little bear!! I liked this sketch and will probably use it again. I have lots of paper like the red that I bought that size. Actually, the bear is on precut paper too.

I bought a lot of various sized paper in various colors from Hollo's Papercraft in Brunswick, OH. I haven't made a trip up there in a while because I have not used all the sizes/colors yet. Hollo's site is http://www.hollos.com/. Thankfully, it is a trip up there so I don't go very often.

Now, I need to stamp the other new stamps I purchased - the Girlfriends sets. Yeah!!

Sketch #155

I didn't have an oval so I used my largest scalloped rectangle punch by Marvy to make the design for Sketch #155. I had stamped the guy at Archiver's at Table 7 on Friday. It is from Art Impressions. The embossed paper had been hiding on the shelf. The tools are from Micheal's and the "Hard at Work" from a sticker set from Hobby Lobby. I inked the embossed paper and added some Viva Pearl Pen on the Happy Birthday sign. The guy's head is popped up but not his body.

I didn't quite follow the design but it is pretty close.

Sketch #151

Sketch #151

I thought this design was challenging.
 The elements were simple
but I wasn't sure how to make it work.

I used some envelope liners from a card kit and a paper white doily. The bigger Thank You is from Joann's and the 2 smaller scalloped circles are from a freebies from one of my magazines (Papercrafting or Creating Keepsakes). The card came together much easier than I had thought. I made a few more cards using the same papers but used some heart-shaped buttons.

New Girlfriends stamps by Art Impressions!!

Oh NO! New stamps!! New stamps are my downfall!! I like them too much!! And new Art Impressions' new Girlfriends have arrived at Archiver's!! I purchased a few of them with my coupons. I will have to use them soon and post them. The Girlfriends remind me of my girlfriends at Table 7, although my Girlfriends are smaller than AI's Girlfriends.

So in the picture are several of the new Girlfriends sets. I purchased Show the Love Stamp Set, Valentine Bear Set, Pedal Pushers Set, and Stayin' Afloat Set plus I got a free stamp with a $20 or more purchase. The free one is Life - Bling it on! I wanted the Show the Love Stamp but they didn't have any on the peg at Archiver's so I bought the Valentine Bear for the bear stamp collcetions. Then the assistant manager found the Show the Love stamp so I had to get it since she went to all the trouble of looking for the stamp. There were 2-3 more sets that I'l have to purchase later. Right at the moment I can only think of the girlfriends are at the movies wearing
3-D glasses. I have seen the Girlfriends in a hot air balloon too.

I used Simple Elegance Paper stack from Hobby Lobby to make this card. The sentiment was in drawer in my cubes. I kept the card simple with just the papers from the stack, and the sentiment, and a few dots of Viva's Pearl Pen black.

Sketch #35

I'm still working on trying to make a card for each OWH sketch and I'm running behind. I did do this one during Christmas break when the boys had gone back to their apartments.

The bear is a freebie from Meljean's, which I colored with Copic markers. The paper (TPC Studio's Little Lovin' Best Friend Tree) is from Tuesday Morning ( a package of 25 for $1.99). The paper was double-sided so I used the back as the band in the middle. The foil hearts ran across the top and bottom of the front of the paper and I cut very carefully to save the hearts. I used only 2 of the foil hearts.

I used some pink papers in the stash. The Disney princess paper has the 2 strips of shimmer papers and the Mrs. Grossman Castle sticker matted on more pink paper. I generated a sentiment on the computer. And ta da, Sketch #153 is done!!
