Top Ten (ah, Twelve) Cards of 2012 for OWH

 1. This one with the AE's girlfriends created lots of peals of laughter in the office as I gave a few of these to friends/coworkers. I used some numbered paper tape from the stash.

2. Truck is from Stamper's Best. I used the Martha Stewart punch that I finally found online.

3. This little monkey was in a contest on the We R Memory Keepers's site but I realized it too late to get the vote out for it. The sentiment is from Hobby Lobby and the monkey is from Michael's .

4. I did a pink girly version too of this birthday card. Clear stamp set on sale at Tuesday Morning.

5. I love this stamp! I think it is a Fiskars clear stamp. It reminds me of my son and my future DIL, who played French horns together in college orchestra.

6. I love Dearie Dolls!! This little cutie is one of hers! You can find her free digi stamps at http://deariedollsdigis.blog.com/ . I used some red, white, blue ribbon on this one and a cute little sentiment that I got a garage sale.

7. Another favorite of mine is Riley. Here he is Mailman Riley. Riley's home is at http://www.rileyandcompanyonline.com/home so check him out there. I used the red, white, blue bakers twine I found online and ordered 2 rolls of it for OWH cards.

8. DCWV stacks are my downfall. I created this card from one of their Christmas stacks.

 9. I seem to collect bike stamps and finally used one for this card. My older son rides bikes in triathlons. I really like this stamp set from Hero Arts. It has another cute sentiment in the set too.

10. Arrggh! a pirate card!! The little hats were on clearance at Archiver's and the pirate paper was from a DCWV stack.

11. I love bears and this one is from a British set I bought on my trip to Russia on Spring Break. Enjoy life is from Stampin' Up sale at an expo.

12. This card is another one I sent to OWH and gave a few to coworkers/friends. They loved the sentiment from Create with TLC. She has daily freebie digi stamps at http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com . The lettered paper was in a fall DCWV stack.

Ok, that's my Top Ten (Twelve) Cards of 2012. I had blogged about some of them and others were neglected in blog posting.

Hope you enjoyed my cards.  Happy New Year!! Time to welcome in 2013!

Scrap Mania at Archiver's - BOGO!

I got this as part of an email from Archiver's today!! Buy a seat at a ScrapMania and get one seat free!! What a deal! The photo from the email didn't copy and paste very well. You purchase your first ScrapMania and then you will get an email with a coupon for the free one. That is how the clerks stated it today when I called for the promotion. I had signed up for 5 seats and then the 5 free seats but they didn't ring up free. So another clerk explained how the free seats would come to you in an email coupon. The promotion email didn't explain that very well.  I have my seat at Table 7 for Jan. and then I'll use my free ones for Feb. Oh, boy!! Fun times!!

Christmas time

Oh, My!! Christmas came early this year as my family celebrated on Sunday due to some work schedules. So, we were home on Christmas without the kids so we enjoyed a movie date together. We liked the movie Lincoln, which was good. It started out slow but ended nicely. We hadn't been to the movies in awhile so it was fun to be out. We had tried to go earlier but the movie was sold out. It used to be that the movies were empty when we went with the boys.

Anyway, I did get cards crafted and mailed in a timely manner. I had colored Riley the Wreath in Oct. while watching TV with the hubby. I added a bit of gold glitter stickle on the ornaments and a bit of red stickle on the holly berries. The little sentiment was a free digi, which I didn't make a note about it. I cut it with a scalloped oval and popped it on a slightly larger oval. I layered Riley on red cardstock and then on Michael's Recollection's Christmas striped paper. I put a piece of glitter ribbon by American Crafts across the bottom of the striped paper. I used the dark green cardstock for the bases. It was a bit dark for writing on so I used a white pen or a green Sharpie to sign our names to the cards.

Of course, I didn't make quite enough of the Riley cards so I did a Plan B card, which was some more of the cards I had done for my sister's retreat. I used Michael's Recollection 8 1/2 x 11" Christmas paper pack, using most of the pack for the cards. I added a bit of icicle stickle on the little squares, outlining the squares. I used most of the Recollection paper cards for the friends at work and other people like the UPS guys and the mailman.

One gift I got from a co-worker was this cutie. The Santa will have
a new home in my scrapbook room
since he has the cricut green trim instead of the
traditional white trim on his suit. I love him!!

Of course, the Hershey Kisses are gone!

Speaking of my scrapbook room, I need to do a bit of reorganizing in it. My older son got rid of some items in his 1/2 of the closet so I have a bit more room in it now. I think I'll get a few more cubes from Michael's and put them in the closet. The closet doors will close now!!

My younger son and his fiance' will here for a few days if the snow lets up so they can safely drive here. My photo above of my dog Ace as a Christmas tree won us 4 tickets to the light display at the zoo. So the four of us are going tomorrow or Friday, depending on the weather. It will be fun!! Thanks, Ace!!

I'm enjoying my school break but it is flying by so quickly!!!
I do hope you all had a wonderful Christmas
with your family and friends.
Hopefully, you will find a few crafting moments
in your busy holiday time.

Tea Time

I recently found a magazine titled TeaTime on the newsstand at the grocery store. I read the magazine and then sent subscriptions as gifts to 2 family members who really enjoy tea. In the issue I had purchased were cards to order a book about having teas for special occasions.

The book included lots of recipes for scones, butters, cakes, savories, sweets, soups and salads. Each menu for the occasion had the type of tea you should serve. It is a slim book but the recipes use everyday items mostly and seem easy to make. There are several recipes I would like to use for Treat Thursdays. The book really makes me want to have a tea party!! The photos were very pretty. I ordered 2 of the books and hopefully the family member will invite me for a fancy tea soon.

I was attending a Friday night Table 7 Crop at Archiver's at Easton on Dec. 14, 2012 and found their display of the new Hero Arts stamps. The new stamps were hanging on an endcap display. They didn't have many of the new stamps. They did have a promotion that if you bought $40+, you got the new catalog for free. I don't use a background stamp very often but I really liked the camera one so I bought that one. I bought another stamp but it wasn't a new one set.
Of course, I enjoyed my new catalog when I got home. :)

I spent Sat. morning enjoying the Hero Arts' blog hop with the new 2013 Catalog stamps.
So many ideas and great cards from the designers! It was fun.
